Shipping Policy: Vantage Point Vintage

1. Order Processing & Handling

  • Inspection Period: To ensure your instrument arrives in peak condition, all guitars undergo a final 24-hour pre-shipment inspection .

  • Handling Time: Most orders are processed and shipped within 2–3 business days.

  • Climate Awareness: To protect vintage wood and finishes, we may delay shipping during extreme weather conditions (heatwaves or deep freezes) to avoid transit damage. We typically avoid shipping on Fridays to prevent instruments from sitting in unconditioned warehouses over the weekend.

2. Shipping Methods & Rates

  • Domestic (USA): We primarily ship via UPS or FedEx Ground. Expedited 2-Day or Next Day Air is available at checkout and highly recommended for high-value vintage items.

  • International: Unfortunately, due to the complexity of the CITIES agreement as it related to Vintage Guitars, Vantage Point Vintage Guitars will not ship internationally.

  • Tracking: You will receive a confirmation email with a tracking number once your order has been dispatched.

3. Professional Packing & Insurance

  • The "Mummy" Method: Every guitar is detuned (to relieve neck tension), secured in its hard case with internal padding, and "floated" inside a heavy-duty, double-walled corrugated box.

  • Full Insurance: All shipments are fully insured for the purchase price. In the rare event of loss or damage, Vantage Point Vintage will handle the claim process with the carrier.

4. Receipt & Acclimatization (Crucial)

Important: Upon delivery, please allow the box to sit unopened in your home for at least 4–6 hours (up to 24 hours in winter). Rapid temperature changes can cause finish checking or wood cracks.

5. Damages & Issues

If your instrument arrives with visible damage to the packaging, please:

  1. Document it: Take clear photos of the box before opening.

  2. Contact us: Email us within 24 hours at info@vantagepointvintage@icloud.com with photos and a description of the issue.

  3. Keep everything: Retain all original packing materials, as they are required for insurance inspections.
